All hail the genius of birds

⭑  Have you ever wondered what goes on in the brains of birds? Wonder no more! The Genius of Birds illustrates how being a bird brain is actually a compliment, not an insult. With a vast array of stories, studies and observations, birds of all sizes prove they can hold their own with their amazing, sometimes baffling, mental faculties.

I marvel over the ability of House Martins to spend the summer here in the UK then leg it off to Africa for winter. They arrived back just last week and I cannot tell you how terrific it was to see them again. That's my main reason for reading this book. I wanted to understand how they manage such a feat and what life as a bird might be like. This book was very palatable. Sure, there's plenty of scientific lingo but it is broken down in a way that those not scientifically inclined (myself included!) can fathom. This book is a real eye opener and a delight for those who love our feathered friends. Remember when you see them out and about, that they know much more than we ever suspected.
