Huge in scope, a great achievement
5 stars
Homebound is one of those books you have to relax into and give a lot of rope as the various disparate storylines may feel overwhelming initially. But, with time the richness of the story unfolds and faint linkages between characters hundreds of years apart start to materialise and make sense. The huge scope and world building is extraordinary as is the wider examination of what constitutes home and how important it is for us all. The main strength for Homebound is in the characters who quickly develop meaningful personalities and face struggles the reader can relate to. Those who enjoy sci fi and dystopian stories will find Homebound a worthy read that interrogates our past to find our future.
