A fun outing in Texas

⭑⭑⭑  I am such a fan of the general ambiance Julia Heaberlin creates in her novels and Night Will Find You has the same cosy, sliding into a favourite pair of jeans sort of vibe. Her characters feel like people you might know or would want to know. Full of drive, determination and gumption.

This novel feels a bit more chick-lit in its story than her previous novels, though. I got a distinct impression of a Pride and Prejudice Elizabeth and Darcy relationship dynamic between Vivvy and Sharp which makes this more of 3.5 star book. Good, but maybe too predictable in its direction of travel? The story, though well told and smartly devised, just lacked the jagged, raw punch I have come to expect from this author.

Would that keep me from reading Night Will Find You? Not at all! It was a fun outing full of interesting twists and turns that entertained throughout.
